New Year, New Work Space!

I feel so grateful to be steamrolling into 2020 with such positive energy. I secured a studio space in the Northrup King building in NE Minneapolis. This is no easy task as it is one of the most sought after creative spaces in the Twin Cities. It is the mecca of foot traffic during Art-A-Whirl and Art Attack and they have First Thrusdays open house event each month among other events. I feel humbled to have been chosen to share the space with two incredible women painters. I remember walking through their space during Art-A-Whirl last year and being gobsmacked by their work. I could never have imagined that I’d be in that space only a few months later. I am so excited to be a part of a community of creatives making everything from jewelry, furniture, textiles, yoga, graphic design to fine art!

I was there working yesterday and kept the door to the studio open and a few people who were wondering the building came in to chat and look at work. I had some great conversations and sold a print!

With Art-A-Whirl coming up in March I’ve set a few goals for myself. Polish off some work, start cranking on new stuff and get some more prints made. I read a quote recently that I’ve decided to use as my motto for 2020, completely corny but I’m good with that.

“There are people less qualified than you, doing the things you want to do, simply because they decided to believe in themselves. Period.” -unknown
