The Pandemic and the Longest Year Ever

It’s been a minute since I’ve updated my “blog”, and for that I apologize. 2020, man what a crap of a year. So many beautiful people have left us this year and so much of what I love about being human has been put on hold. Getting into the studio has been a bigger challenge than it typically is and sharing a studio with two other people makes it tricky on top of it all as we try to stagger our time. Although part of me knows its most likely the case, I refuse to believe that wearing masks is the new normal.

The one exciting thing that has happened to me in 2020 is that I had a piece accepted into the Minnesota State Fair, no easy task I am told? It was really fun to be involved in an art event and I think the State Fair people pulled it off wonderfully. They staggered the timed tickets so each person had 90 minutes to walk through the gallery before the next group came in. The weather was beautiful as well so they were able to have the large entry door open.

I just finished a small commission that I am grateful was offered to me. It feels so good to make work for someone, that is particularly meaningful for them. I am working on a few new pieces that I am very excited about and have decided that I need to make more videos of my process. I made one and it was so fun and well received, so more of that to come as well.

Take Care,
