First Piece of 2019

It took me a few months into the new year to finish a new piece. The older my toddler gets the more one on one attention she needs. The more middle school progresses for my 11 year old, the more I am getting glimpses into what having a teenager is going to be like. The snow is finally melting at a rapid pace and signs of Spring are palpable. Living in Minnesota can take its toll on your soul in the middle of February. A time of year when you’ve already enjoyed the snow for 3 to four months and you know you still have another month or two left. This year it was a time when my inspiration drained and my attitude was worse for the wear. I booked it down to the Gulf of Mexico to visit my parents and feel the warmth of the sun and freshness of the surf and came back rehydrated. Time to suck in my gut, roll up my sleeves and toughen up. Time to get crankin’, time to get productive, time to get to work.
