Art-A-Whirl and The New Studio - #203

The biggest art festival of the season came and went with explosive energy. It was the most amazing and affirming experience I’ve had so far in selling my art. Being on the 4th floor, we generally see half the amount of traffic the first and second floors get. That didn’t seem to make a huge difference this time! By the time the weekend was over I had sold 7 paintings, 5 prints and one framed print. The paintings that sold, I had never imagined that someone would take an interest in. I thought maybe only I really appreciated them. I was definitely tremendously humbled by the whole experience. I heard from other artists that have been in the building a long time, that it was the busiest Art-A-Whirl they had ever seen. People were out and ready to engage in artistic experiences, it was palpable.

On another note, I finally got the keys to my new studio and have started moving spaces! It is a lot of work as I am doing it all on my own. I’m hoping to finish up this week so my old studio mate, Jen, can finally get our once shared studio to herself! I have never had my own studio, it feels so official and a little heavy. I feel like “Ok, now I am responsible for keeping this ship a float all on my own. If I don’t show up, no one else will, its all on me to make this happen.” Once it is all set up and rolling, I will post some images and a short video tour! I hope this finds you well and that you are having a great start to your summer!

Cheers,
